Early voters flock to Burlington

Hamilton has advance poll envy.

In Burlington, more than 11,000 people cast an advance poll vote – many of them online – representing close to 10 per cent of all eligible voters in the city. Toronto, too, is seeing record advance poll numbers – more than 125,000 – in the midst of a heavily-publicized mayoral race.

In Hamilton, we’re also close to 1,000 advance poll voters over 2010.

But our five-day total, 13,242, is not so far ahead of Burlington, which has less than half our number of eligible voters. Overall, less than 4 per cent of eligible voters made use of Hamilton advance polls.
