McHattie and the 100-day tour

By Teri Pecoskie / The Hamilton Spectator

Brian McHattie has a lot of walking ahead of him.

The mayoral candidate and Ward 1 councillor has launched a 100-day tour of Hamilton’s nearly 200 neighbourhoods.

His plan is visit at least one neighbourhood a day leading up to the Oct. 27  municipal election to meet residents and find out what excites them about the city’s future.

Standing with supporters at Sam Lawrence Park overlooking the lower city, McHattie said no mayoral candidate in memory has taken on such an ambitious campaign tour. He also said he would work into the night to get the visits in on top of his ongoing city council duties.

“I even bought myself a new pair of shoes,” he said. “I can’t wait to get started.”

He said he will post daily updates and photos on mchattie2014.ca
